Lt. Jacob Stull Galentine, Civil War Veteran

Memorial Day, 2014: A special graveside service will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery to honor Lt. Jacob Stull Galentine. Lt. Galentine served with the NY 136th Infantry in the Civil War. He was born in Rush, August 12, 1835 to John Galentine and Isabel Stull Galentine. Following his Civil War service, Lt. Galentine continued to serve his community throughout his life. He lived his adult years in Lima, served as an assessor, town supervisor, and was also an auctioneer. Prior to the war, he taught school in Rush for two terms.
All are invited to attend the graveside service on May 26, 2014. The service will immediately follow the parade and American Legion Ceremony. The Sons of the Union Veterans and Masons, along with re-enactors will lead the service for Lt. Galentine.
